Reiki
is universal life energy. It is the energy in all living matter.
Reiki practitioners are channels for this energy. They act
as an extension cord which is plugged into the universal energy
all around us which flows through the cord (the practitioner)
and into the lamp so to speak (the person, plant, or animal
receiving the Reiki energy). It is a healing energy which
calms, relaxes and harmonizes. When the Reiki energy flows
through the practitioner's hands, it goes where it is needed
the most in its receiver. It has nothing to do any particular
religion, faith or belief. I have used it on both people and
animals with rewarding results.

Reiki is wonderfull technique that allows the "life force
energy" to flow though the body of the person or pet
that you are treating, it's used as a way to reduce stress
and help in relaxation. I have personally found that Reiki
treats the whole person or pet, including the body, emotions,
mind and spirit.
I have been asked to perform Reiki
on dogs, cats, horses, and even a milk cow. I have found that
it can and is of benfit to the pets wellbeing. It can be a
great tool, in helping both owner and pet come to terms with
a illness, it seems to bring about a peacefullness to the
passing. I have been asked to check pets, with Reiki, as I
have often been able to "tell" what area of the
body is not doing well, particularly if they think they know
what is wrong. Often I will find something that was not seen
before, which allows the owners to ask for tests in that area.
I have found that it seem to be a interesting and effective
side effect of the Reiki training.
