HOMEOPATHY
AND SEVERAL WELLPET POSTS
Very briefly, this system of
medical treatment is based on the theory that giving
minute doses of substances can cure diseases. In a healthy
person, this procedure would produce symptoms similar
to those of the disease. Samuel Hahnemann developed
this method of medical treatment in the late 18th century.
Animal, vegetable or mineral
substances are diluted until none of the original material
remains. The remedies are then "succussed",
or shaken.
A particular remedy is given
after careful and painstaking consideration of all of
the animal's symptoms while taking a thorough history
and then repertorizing the symptoms and studying the
Materia Medica of remedies to come to a simillimum",
which will lead to a cure.
The simillimum is the remedy
that corresponds to the totality of symptoms. A cure
results in the complete and permanent elimination of
the disease, and, most notably, the return of optimal
well-being and signs of good health. Resistance to infectious
disease and parasites becomes very high, and there is
no need for continued treatment with drugs of any kind.
Most of these posts are
older and are from Dr. Susan Beal who spent about a
year on Wellpet. Although I do have posts that are newer
and just as poignant, I had these all ready to put up.
