Natural Healing > Flower Eseences and Several Links

By Mary Wulff-Tilford, Jane Mckay and unknown authors

These are most likely the most misunderstood remedies that we talk about. Here is a bit about them:
Originally developed by Dr. Edward Bach earlier this century, these liquid essences are prepared from non-poisonous flowers, with the purpose of achieving a balance between mind, body and spirit, and gently correcting the emotional upsets that may cause physical symptoms or delay recovery from an illness. Dr. Bach believed that disease is "entirely the result of a conflict between our spiritual and mortal selves." He became intuitively sensitive and found that by holding a certain type of flower, or tasting the petal, he could immediately sense what its healing effects on the emotions would be.

For those of you who are interested in finding out more about this fascinating subject, here are some of my favorite links.

Hi,

Yes, you can use flower essences in cats. The accepted way of dispensing flower essences is to buy the stock bottle (of whatever essence you're going to use, such as Rescue Remedy), and then place 3-5 drops from that bottle into a clean, empty, one-ounce dropper bottle. Fill it to almost full with filtered water (or distilled), then add a teaspoon or so of brandy (as a preservative), and dispense from that new bottle. We also place a few drops in a plant mister and use it in the car on trips if the dogs are rambunctious. Or it can be misted onto houseplants, or used for wild animals that you can't get close enough to administer the essence. (I use Rescue Remedy in the water when I transplant flowers, herbs or veggies, and it works amazingly well!)

The flower essence's energy is still imparted to the water and is just as "potent". If you shake the dispensing bottle *up and down* (for some reason, back and forth isn't acceptable! :<), then this helps to "potentise" the essence, similar to potentising homeopathic remedies....... oh, and here is a new book, don't know if anyone has mentioned it,but it is VERY good"

The following was submitted by Jane McKay:

According to the literature I have from Equilite with regard to the Flower Essences:
"Rhythmic use of these remedies aids in the strength of their catalytic action. The potency is increased, not by using more drops at a time, but by using them on a more frequent, consistent basis."
"Use the essences until you see behavioral changes, unless otherwise specified in the individual blend..."

Usages are as follows:
-in the animal's drinking water
-orally: under or on the tongue, inside the cheeks or gums (orally being the most effective)
-spray essence and water mixture on the animal's body
-in their food (this being the least effective method)
-place a few drops on you finger and rub into the animal's ear, nose or muzzle
If you have ordered the Lighten Up/Tone Down essence, I'm sure they will send you the full copy of this information.

Kindest Regards,
Jane MacKay
